Susan had the eye of an artist from an early age. She picked up her first Nikon at the age of 15 and was hooked. Photography became her second language, and her eyes, hands, and camera became her voice.
This early passion directed and informed her life as she set off to become (unbeknownst to her at the time) the most sought after photographer in the Philadelphia region. Her early years included creative work for the Franklin Mint, the largest direct marketing company in the world, where she art-directed and designed sets for promoting high-end products. This work honed her eye for small details. Later, her eight years in television production developed her ability to make effective creative decisions on the spot, a true gift.
Her background led Susan to embrace the photojournalistic style to shooting events. She applied it to classic wedding formats, and clients applauded her innovative approach. Her mastery of the style makes her assignments look and feel effortless, from concept to execution.
It’s truly rare that these talents belong to a genuine “people person”. Susan naturally sets her clients at ease with her kind heart and warming smile. She has the innate ability to see what is needed, and then react from the heart. Your images will reflect natural purity and beautiful design.
Intuitive + Artistic
Leah picked up a camera to capture social issues, she wanted to make a difference and tell stories. She thought she would be a photojournalist. As her path led her on many adventures and travels, she also studied photography and received a Bachelors of Fine Art and a Masters Degree in Art. In college she developed a passion for art and printing. Leah was pursuing her photography when she was introduced to Susan Beard and then Leah became part of the team.
Leah is also a teacher , she has a prolific career as an artist, art educator and commercial photographer. Leah handpaints her photographs with encaustic paint and is represented by galleries in Philadelphia, Florida, California and New Mexico. Leah has been on television with Martha Stewart for Waxworksphoto, leads workshops world wide and had a musical created about her photography. Leah is a seasoned photographer and well studied fine artist. Leah connects with people by observation and her keen sense of caring. Her photographs portray emotion and imagination. Leah is creative, energetic and loving. She likes to make her clients feel comfortable and unleash the beauty within each person. She brings all her experiences to every wedding and she adds sensitivity with a flare for self expression.
